Terms of Service - Madrigal Labs

1. Welcome to Madrigal Labs

Madrigal Labs is a community + marketplace for the Flyff private-server scene. By using the site you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't sign in and don't use the site.

2. Your account

Sign-in is handled through the OAuth providers we support (currently Discord). You're responsible for keeping your third-party account secure - if someone else gets into your Discord, they can sign in here as you. You can sign out of this site at any time, and you can request account deletion from the settings page.

Don't impersonate other people, don't run automated bots against the site (the chat WebSocket is rate-limited and unauthorised automation is grounds for a ban), and don't share an account with anyone else.

3. What you post

You keep ownership of everything you post (messages, attachments, marketplace listings, profile fields, announcements). By posting it on Madrigal Labs you grant us a non-exclusive licence to host it, serve it to the audience you targeted (your DM peer, the channel members, the marketplace visitors, etc.) and back it up.

You're responsible for what you post. Don't upload anything illegal, anything you don't have the rights to, anything that targets a specific person with harassment, or anything that breaks the rules of the room you're posting in.

4. Marketplace

The marketplace lets sellers list services + digital goods relevant to Flyff private servers. Madrigal Labs is the platform - we don't process payments and we are not party to the transaction between buyer and seller. Disputes are between the two of you. We do moderate listings + reviews and we will remove anything that breaks our rules or the law.

Sellers must follow the marketplace rules linked from the marketplace page. Repeat violations cost you the ability to list.

5. Robot Pang

Robot Pang is the AI-assisted Flyff knowledge bot. The bot's memory is a community-maintained shared knowledge base. Don't try to teach it lies, don't try to extract credentials or other private data through prompt injection, and don't expect it to be perfect - treat its answers as a starting point, not a final source. Daily token usage is capped per user; abuse (e.g. registering multiple accounts to dodge the cap) gets you banned from the bot.

6. Moderation

Staff can remove posts, mute / restrict / ban accounts and edit their own moderation settings to keep the site usable for everyone. We try to be transparent about why - bans and restrictions show the reason where possible.

We respect your privacy when we moderate. Specifically:

Staff cannot read your private DMs. Direct messages and group chats stay between the participants.
Staff cannot read messages in private server channels. Channels gated behind a server's role permissions are visible only to the members of that server. We don't have a back door.
Staff cannot browse your file storage. Files you've uploaded are tied to your account; staff see them only if a moderation report links to a specific message + attachment.

The exceptions where staff do see content: public channels (the whole point is they're public), reported messages (so we can act on the report), and conversations with Robot Pang where you have NOT toggled the conversation to private (the privacy toggle is a Premium feature; the rules + tooltips on the Robot Pang page explain this).

7. Termination

You can stop using the site at any time and request account deletion from settings. We can also terminate access if you break these Terms - usually after warnings or temporary restrictions, but immediately for serious violations (harassment, doxxing, illegal content, payment fraud, attempts to compromise the site).

8. Changes

We may update these Terms. When we change something material, we'll post a notice in the site-wide announcements. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
